Hapkido is a living, breathing, art
We don’t form you to the art, we form the art to you
Our martial art course of study includes self-defense techniques which require the student to move and to think in directions that are, at first, alien to him/her; and lastly, to make the student aware of his/her responsibility to others. The student should never frivolously use the techniques that have been taught.
“THE FIRST PERSON TO THROW A PUNCH IS THE FIRST PERSON TO RUN OUT OF IDEAS.”
Our martial arts training is for diverse ages, as evidenced by our enrollment which has included a youth of 12 years, a student of 75, and just about everyone in between.

We’re serious about our training, but we’re not somber.
Women in Hapkido
Women find our program an excellent martial art for self-defense.
Hapkido relies on knowledge and movement rather than strength to complete techniques. The size of the person performing a technique is irrelevant. Consequently, a 220 lb. attacker is at the mercy of a 110 lb. trained practitioner. This quality makes Hapkido ideal for women.
